Our Tribe basecamp is an exciting extension to our charity. We are working with Wakefield Council to secure space in the old Thornes Park nursery. Here we will site our re-used shipping container classroom which will use solar energy to power lights, electricity etc.
We will also be taking over additional areas of the site to house a storage container, toilet, nature / growing garden and native tree nursery.
We’ll be recruiting volunteers to help us clear the site and plan / shape the garden areas.
We want this space to be an asset for the local community and offer our charity a much-needed physical base to deliver more sessions, courses and events.

8 Week Personal Development Programme
This programme focuses on exploring wellbeing and ways we can build our own wellbeing toolkit to support our mental, physical, and social health.
We use re-connection with nature and green space as a way of developing wellbeing. We also use group discussion and activities to look at ways to build our support networks and create a toolkit to keep us well.
Each session starts with us having breakfast together and having a chance to relax into the space before we start the session.
We also explore any behaviours, thoughts and habits that no longer help us and use activities to ritually release those. Feeling less weighted down we can then work together to look forward, recognise our strengths and plan the next steps in our personal journeys.
This course is delivered by fully qualified advanced wilderness therapeutic approaches tutors.
Our current course ends in November 2024 at the glorious Nostell Priory venue in Wakefield. The course has been fully funded by the UK Government through their UK shared prosperity funding. The course builds confidence and skills to help move participants towards education, training or employment.
Our previous course was delivered at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in 2022 and was funded by ESF.
